arrangement
"We are made of star stuff...Materials never leave this world. They just keep recycling, recombining," rearranging. And what makes each thing what it is, is the arrangement of that star stuff. In come with nothing, leave everything, I rearranged detritus abandoned in a vacant space in Omaha, Nebraska. I was thinking about my body and how it's specific arrangement of star stuff makes me what I am. I thought that if these elements were arranged another way I may be any one of these objects instead. I wanted to change their arrangement in the space to give them a new thingness, a new meaning, and new relations. I wonder if I can do something similar with my past, my originary myths and practices. Can I rearrange them and create something from which I can find healing and sustenance?
