answers / uncertainty
"[S]ome with certainty insist no certainty exists"
I was raised with answers to unanswerable questions. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (CJCLDS) has stories to answer unanswerable questions. These stories are called, "The Plan Of Salvation". "As you learn about The Plan of Salvation, you will find answers to these questions:
'Where did I come from?'
'What is my purpose in life?'
'Where will I go after this life?'"
I'm still uncertain about the answers to these questions. (Yes, and) I have ideas.
The answers to these questions can provide security, comfort, perhaps even a sense of salvation. In a world where everything is changing and nothing is permanent, many of us desire answers, solutions, and stability--to feel settled. Yet, getting to know the unsettling discomfort of uncertainty, with patience, persistence, and gentleness can alleviate the anxiety of losing control as, "the root of suffering is resisting the certainty that no matter what the circumstances, uncertainty is all we truly have."
